Some re-mastered, un-published images of the twins, Brian and Andrew Chaplin who form the Cape Town pop duo, Locnville.
I was privileged to shoot the first series to launch their new album “Sun in my Pocket” here in Cape Town,
and added a number of images to my blog in July last year
See http://www.cape-photography.co.za/2010/07/locnville/
in which I did a small write up about them, but just to add a refresher:
Andrew and Brian are related to Charlie Chaplin through their American mother.
Shortly after their birth in New York City, their South African father relocated the family to Cape Town, where the brothers grew up.
(In fact as the crow flies we are almost neighbours!)
Locnville who made South African chart history with the highest charting debut album, soon became SA’s hottest act.
Now, having signed a deal with Sony Music International, their debut album entitled “Sun In My Pocket” was released to international markets in August 2010
and sold over 40 000 copies since its release in February 2010.
To promote their debut album “Sun in my Pocket” they undertook a ‘Grand European Tour’ and travelled during the summer of 2010 to
Germany, Belgium, Holland, the U.S and loads more countries.
They also have performed local South African concerts at the Carnival City Big Top Arena in Gauteng and the Grand West Grand Arena in Cape Town.
To round off their grand tour they played to an incredibly excited local audience at the 3rd cricket Test match between India and South Africa at Newlands Cricket Stadium recently.
The 20-year-old identical twins, Andrew and Brian Chaplin, describe themselves as singer-songwriter, drummer guitarists
whose early music influence came from the bands Pink Floyd and Oasis.
